Youth Athletes United — recently established as the parent company of Amazing Athletes, as well as other popular youth sports training and activity programs Soccer Stars, TGA Premier Sports and JumpBunch — is rapidly expanding across the U.S., inspiring entrepreneurs who are passionate about sports, families and children to join in on the franchise’s expansion to make a difference by introducing sports to children and getting them active from a young age. One such franchisee is Felix Lopez, a father of two boys (seven and three years old), and owner and coach of his own Amazing Athletes Central Florida and Soccer Stars Orlando locations.
Lopez, originally immigrated from Puerto Rico in 1992 into Miami, Florida, has always been an athlete, having played a range of sports since the age of five with an emphasis on baseball. The sports-minded dad was already part of the Amazing Athletes family several years ago when his son joined the program in Charlotte, North Carolina — an extracurricular both he and his wife loved having their child be a part of.
“Our son would come home all excited after every class and try to show us something new he had learned and done that day at Amazing Athletes,” said Lopez.
After relocating to Orlando, Florida, Felix realized there was a lack of youth athlete programs like Amazing Athletes in Central Florida for his son to join. And as a parent, Lopez realized the benefit of the Amazing Athletes program and how it impacted his son’s overall growth and wanted to bring the joy and developmental impact of the franchise to his new home. His love of sports, previous experience with the program, and desire to make an impact in his new community made the decision to become an Amazing Athletes franchisee a no-brainer.
“Amazing Athletes is more than just running around and throwing balls,” said Lopez. “Kids should try a variety of sports and have a general knowledge of each as they all help build good sportsmanship, good discipline, and promote a healthy lifestyle while having fun!”
Amazing Athletes President John Erlandson expressed the value franchisees such as Lopez add to the continued growth and impact of Amazing Athletes.
"Felix's story with Amazing Athletes is inspiring,” said Erlandson. “After experiencing the brand firsthand through his son, he saw the potential and opportunity to impact more children in his community. He is exactly the franchisee we are looking to partner with — someone who is passionate about sports and the positive impact they can have on families."
